about

The majority of tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered in an afternoon on Abbey Road equipment at the Royal Academy of Music. I sang and played the songs to students who listened to them then worked out their parts. These are the 2nd takes!
The other track is Rollin' City, written on and about my favourite train journey, Birmingham to Totnes.
John Peel played Leeds for the Winter a few times on his Radio One show.

about

Ben Calvert & The Swifts’ psychedelic circus alt-folk first saw the light of day in front of a few hundred avid ears and ... more eyes when they opened the main stage of Moseley Folk Festival in the Autumn sun last September. Since then they have played a sell-out show as support to The Jeffrey Lewis, and opened for Erland & The Carnival, as well as playing to a packed out Birmingham Symphony Hall. less
